In October of 1999, residents of Fort Worth, Texas began complaining of a horrific stench. A stench that was so bad, that just walking down a specific street would immediately induce a headache. Residents complained that they couldn’t even turn on their air conditioning because if they did, a rancid smell emitting from outside would permeate their entire home. Fort Worth Health Department officials, being absolutely inundated with complaints about this stench, set out to find the source, and they were soon able to identify where it was coming from - a supermarket that had been completely abandoned three months prior. And what officials walked in on, was an absolute nightmare of biblical proportions. Join us today as we discuss the vile Mexia Supermarket disaster.
