We also discuss Karleen's own experiences with health disparities as a community healthcare advocate in a rural, majority low-income black community. We talk about historical mistrust of the medical establishment in the Black community and her experience navigating the healthcare system both as a Black woman and as the daughter of a Black woman with chronic illness.
