I recommend that queer educators get involved with GLSN! Why not? Power in numbers.

All of us have been in situations where we have been confronted by bigots and other hurtful people in our schools. Sometimes the most hurtful people are "allies" who unintentionally dismiss what we are experiencing and advise us to "just let it blow over." By sharing our experiences and stories, we help each other be better informed and feel a greater sense of community. It is also helpful to know that our queer colleagues are going through it at times, just like we are, and knowing that can help us feel less alone. Also, in these episodes, we will share advice on how we navigated hard situations in order to help each other, too.
