We wanted to do an episode during June, for Pride month, about a case that needed to be heard and its victim who needed to be remembered. We found this case in a 2008 Newsweek article called "Young, Gay and Murdered in Junior High." In it the writer claims, "The Larry King shooting became the most prominent gay-bias crime since the murder of Matthew Shepard 10 years ago." However, after doing research, there may have been two victims here: Larry, who lost his life and his killer Brandon, who now spends his days in prison. We also have to question if this was a hate crime because Larry was gay, or bullying that was taken too far? We'll let you be the judge. But in a moment, the lives of two young teenagers were lost, and the adults in their lives could have possibly changed the outcome. Unfortunately, no one did and a tragedy unfolded. Let us know what you think!
Excuse the audio, first timers here, but we promise to get better!
