On today's show, we have a major academic rules violation in college sports. So the entire episode will center around the Featured Rules Item. Recorded earlier in the week, we dive into what the violation was at the University of Memphis, and we also debut our show-cause alarm sound effect! I know, contain your excitement. This case is pretty open/shut, you won't be railing against the NCAA for this one, but beyond the violation, we examine the circumstances surrounding the vital and perhaps not often thought-about position of academic advisors in Division I athletic departments.

Everybody's Talks, only do we hear what they are saying. Congress is talking amongst themselves about the SCORE Act, SEC Media Days are for talking about how it just means more, and we want to talk about some teams that are not getting a lot of talk in the preseason, but we think may surprise us in 2025.

Source for a lot of the SCORE ACT info from Jesse Dougherty.

Lawyer up, pal, because in this episode we are going to pay tribute to our one true king, billable hours. There are lawyers, and then there are lawyers that consistently whoop the NCAA in the courtroom. Those lawyers are compensated quite well for those efforts, they also are not happy with some of the efforts of the new College Sports Commission to prevent collectives from paying athletes for doing work for their group. They would prefer "valid" business practices, but we are (slightly) calling BS on them. Let's take a look at how this issue could twist the attempts to live in the House Era into a pretzel.

Here is the post from Dalton Forsythe.
