“In “The Gifts,” the children marvel at their presents. Fred receives toy soldiers, while Marie treasures her Nutcracker. As they play, Fred damages the Nutcracker by making him crack the hardest nuts, but Marie quickly nurses her dear Nutcracker. Despite the mishap, Marie’s bond with the Nutcracker deepens.”
