The PUSH Project Podcast EP. 006 || BIG BILLY CLARK

  • サマリー

  • "THAT HITS YOU RIGHT IN THE GUT!!"

Big Billy Clark is the Executive Vice President at Hitmakers
Entertainment, a record label based in Los Angeles, founded by mega
producer Mark Feist (Beyonce, Celine Dion, Mary J. Blige, John Legend,
    Drake).

Clark is also the owner of the longest running artist development music
program in Los Angeles called VocalizeU. VocalizeU is a 10-Day Artist
Intensive program that brings hundreds of singers, artists, songwriters and
producers every year from all over the world to learn from the industries elite.
In addition to running Hitmakers and VocalizeU, Clark also manages
    Keke Palmer and Melody Thornton.

Big Billy Clark started out his career at Def Jam Recordings in 1994
when then CEO Russell Simmons recruited him into the west coast office of the
NY based company. Clark hustled his way from an intern to Senior Director of
A&R / West Coast Office Manager. After 9 years at his post at Island Def Jam,
Clark ventured out and decided to learn a new facet of what his artists do…
Touring. He started Tour Managing and traveled around the world for almost 3
years before he was brought into Atlantic Records as an A&R by the labels
    President Craig Kallman.

In 2006 Clark was then offered an executive A&R position at Sony Music
where he developed and signed new artists, as well as worked with the other
A&R team on the labels roster. After a couple of years at Sony, Clark felt there
was a void in artist development. 2010, He was brought onboard to run a
production company for The Black Eyed Peas' Printz Board called Beets & Produce, and eventually became the GM at The Writing Camp, which housed
songwriters and producers responsible for hit songs such as Beyonce's "Halo", Rihanna "SOS", Hot Chelle Rae's "Tonight Tonight", and Jennifer Hudson’s
“Think Like A Man”. Clark also was a talent producer on The Hub's hit TV show
Majors & Minors, in addition to handling music supervision and clearance for all
music in the show. All of this lead up Clark joining Hitmakers as Exec. VP in
2015 as well and managing artists such as Christina Milian, Keke Palmer,
    Melody Thornton and numerous others.
