Muslim Americans are racially and ethnically diverse. Roughly (41%) identify as White, (28%) are South Asian, and (20%) are Black/African American) Just as Christianity encompasses multiple denominations (Catholic, Baptist, etc.), Islam includes two major denominations: Sunni (75-90%) and Shi'a (10-13%). Given the mosaic of ethnicities and cultures of major US religions, how integrated are members in general and Muslims specifically in faith, service, and practice.
