    Yusef was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles to Christian parents and grew up in the church, but bad choices led him to join the gang community and be incarcerated as a very young man. After serving 22 years in prison, he came out as a transformed citizen ready to make an impact on formerly incarcerated communities.
