    In this episode I discuss why hope for drug addicts is actually just an elaborate sales pitch to the most desperate sections of our society. Why we as addicts and our families cling to such hope, and why doing so destroys so many awesome people battling their addictions.

    As a hard drug addict who has been through over a decade of different treatment programs and therapy models, I describe what I have found that works in treatment and how professionals generally view the cause and treatment of addiction.

    The goal of this episode is to destroy the idea that people who use drugs and alcohol can simply turn themselves over to a professional and get the results that they want assuming they can pay the right price. Once this idea is destroyed we can begin to find the only appropriate place to put that hope in order to find success.
