  • Welcome to the Soul’s Way podcast! This is your host Emily Anne Brant. I am a proud First Nations (Mohawk) author, speaker and mentor here to meet you at the intersection of personal development and decolonization. I truly believe that when we see ourselves and one another mind, body, emotion AND most of all soul or spirit… we can break through systematic, ancestral and generational ways of being that we came here to disrupt and rise above, and lean into the ways that heal our spirits. I know that we can do this through honest conversations, radical responsibility, and healing together in community. Through my stories and the incredible conversations with some truly amazing guests - my hope is that you leave each episode with a more open heart and that you feel emboldened in your medicine and your voice- knowing your ripple effect matters. OUR ripple effect matters. Work with me: www.emilyannebrant.com. Podcast inquiries and collaborations: thesoulswaypodcast@gmail.com Loving the podcast? • Coaching Industry Rants & Chats Part 2 w/ Melinda Jackson
    2024/11/18

What do coaches have to do with politics? Are leaders and healers obligated to show up the way their community is asking them? As a spiritual leader, what's my role in decolonization and liberation? What if I say the wrong thing and offend someone? Melinda Jackson is back for part two of our unfiltered coaching industry rants and chats as we dive into all this and more! We're sharing:

    • Our post U.S. election thoughts
    • How politics impacts coaching and healing
    • What being a leader means from an Indigenous lens
    • Are leaders obligated to comment on politics?
    • The spiritual growth of decolonization
    • What happens when you get it wrong or cause harm
    • How real healing and repair can happen (with a real time example)

And so much more, including our own stories and experiences.

  • Coaching Industry Rants & Chats with Melinda Jackson
    2024/11/07

Ya know that feeling when you meet a #BizBestie and you just GET each other? That's me and my "cuz" Melinda Jackson. We both have plenty of experience in the coaching industry, both as clients and as imperfect leaders. Myself as an Indigenous, disabled, neuro-spicy woman. Melinda as a Black, nonbinary, Queer, neuro-spicy person. We have thoughts on some of the practices in the industry, such as...

    • The "invisible offer" trend that we find alarming
    • The hyper binary "feminine energy" spaces
    • The word salad and fluff I've paid thousands for
    • "Celebrity" coaches and culty vibes
    • How do these millionaires sleep at night...or do they?
    • The crumbling of colonial, toxic coaching

And so much more, including our own "cringey eras" and how we've evolved from them and continue to be ever-evolving and learning. The audio is wonky, the conversation is unplanned and a bit all over the place, and this is totally unfiltered - but we hope you enjoy it. Let us know!
