The songs were inspired by unrequited love, and the recording was the product of Eric Clapton and three American musicians all living together and jamming. When they were ready, they flew to Miami where, on a night off, Clapton saw Duane Allman play for the first time. And soon after, one of the greatest guitar duets in rock history took place.
