The UnReal Man

  • For generations, we've been told that "Real Men Don't Cry". I've called my movement The UnReal Man. My aim with this movement and this podcast is to challenge the societal belief that in order to be considered a "Real" man, men need to be cold, hard, emotionless robots who just get things done. If men open up and admit to having a problem, they are often called a "baby" or simply told "don't worry about it mate - everything will be ok". They are often afraid to admit to having any problems, because it makes them somehow weak or less of a man to be struggling. This is the belief process that I believe we need to change. I think it is time that we make it ok for men to ask for help when they need it - to be allowed to feel emotions and to express those emotions without being judged less of a man.

In this week's episode, I talk to Michelle Panning - Intimacy Alchemist - from Melbourne.

Michelle is a great friend of mine and I really enjoyed talking about the male / female dynamic with her in this episode.

We talk about true intimacy and playing the blame game - vulnerability and real, authentic connection.

I hope you enjoy listening to this episode as much as I enjoyed recording it.

In this week's episode, I talk to Scott Davison. Scott is a coach who helps Dads become better Dads, better partners and better men. He does this through his blog and podcast called The Dad Train.

Scott is doing important work and I love that he is focusing on Dads, because children and relationships don't come with an instruction manual.
