    2024/06/29

Carlos Parreira is back in Thailand - and shook off his jetlag for long enough to talk with Chiang Mai is Blue about the challenge and opportunities at Rayong FC - in Thai League 1.

He is genuinely one of the good guys and we wish him every success in his new role.

We also have an update on the soap opera that is Chiang Mai FC.

  • Professionals and Amateurs
    2024/06/13

We talk with Khun Pongsakorn Tantajanya the General Manager of Mahasarakham SBT FC - newly promoted to Thai League 2. This is a club that is doing everything well - organising early for the new season; recruiting quality players; seeking out new sponsors; understanding their budget; and engaging with the local community.

Compare and contrast to CMFC. The search continues for Big Sand - as potential investors into CMFC seek a face-to-face meeting before any deal can be agreed.

And (unusually for us - but it is the quiet season) we look at Thailand's departure from 2026 World Cup qualifying.

    Thanks, as always for listening.

  • Is this the end of the road for CMFC?
    2024/05/30

An update, as best we can, on the status of CMFC's 2024-2025 license applications; and the possible outcomes. It is complicated and reliable information is at a premium.

Simon goes to Rayong - and eventually comes home.

  • It is the anticipation that hurts the most....

  • CMFC fall in the play off semi-final
    2024/05/15

In Thai League 2 CMFC fell at the last - an entertaining 2-2 draw at home to Nakhon Si United sending the visitors to the T2 playoff final against Rayong.

Our Rayong correspondent adds his thoughts on a memorable night as Chulapa-infused Rayong beat Ayutthaya 4-1 after extra time.

Behind the scenes CMFC is the one club in T2 that saw its application for a 2024/2025 T2 license rejected. The club has until 21 May to appeal, and presumably to provide missing or clarifying information.

CMFC fans are left contemplating the possibility of life in T3. Phayao is a lovely little town
