  • Title: Think-ful

    Speaker: Stacey Carver

    Scripture References: Psalm 100:1-5, 2 Timothy 3:1-5, Psalm 95:2, Psalm 107:1, 2 Chronicles 20:21, Psalm 150:6, 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Are you half-full or half-empty? The way we choose to see our lives—through gratitude or grumbling—makes all the difference. Psalm 100:4 invites us to “enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.” Thanksgiving isn’t just a polite gesture; it’s a powerful posture of faith that brings us closer to God.

In contrast, 2 Timothy 3:1-5 warns of a generation filled with ungrateful hearts, highlighting the dangers of focusing on what’s missing instead of what’s given. But Psalm 107:1 reminds us to “give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” Gratitude shifts our focus from ourselves to God’s goodness and faithfulness.

When King Jehoshaphat sent singers ahead of the army to praise God in 2 Chronicles 20:21, the battle was won not by their strength, but by their thanksgiving. And Psalm 150:6 declares, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!” Thanksgiving fuels praise, and praise changes the atmosphere.

So today, don’t hold back. Get a little louder with your thanksgiving. Let your heart and mouth reflect the fullness of God’s blessings. As 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Let’s be think-ful people, choosing gratitude in every moment!
