[1 Samuel 17:8-11] Goliath stood and shouted a taunt across to the Israelites. “Why are you all coming out to fight?” he called. “I am the Philistine champion, but you are only the servants of Saul. Choose one man to come down here and fight me! [9] If he kills me, then we will be your slaves. But if I kill him, you will be our slaves! [10] I defy the armies of Israel today! Send me a man who will fight me!” [11] When Saul and the Israelites heard this, they were terrified and deeply shaken. The devil wants to _____________ your weaknesses, but we need to ______________ God's strengths. [Psalm 34:3] Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together The difference between Saul and David was their _______ of God. [I Samuel 17:32:37] “Don’t worry about this Philistine,” David told Saul. “I’ll go fight him!” [33] “Don’t be ridiculous!” Saul replied. “There’s no way you can fight this Philistine and possibly win! You’re only a boy, and he’s been a man of war since his youth.” [34] But David persisted. “I have been taking care of my father’s sheep and goats,” he said. “When a lion or a bear comes to steal a lamb from the flock, [35] I go after it with a club and rescue the lamb from its mouth. If the animal turns on me, I catch it by the jaw and club it to death. [36] I have done this to both lions and bears, and I’ll do it to this pagan Philistine, too, for he has defied the armies of the living God! [37] The Lord who rescued me from the claws of the lion and the bear will rescue me from this Philistine!” Saul finally consented. “All right, go ahead,” he said. “And may the Lord be with you!” You can’t decide all the ___________ in your life but you can decide your _____________. [1 Samuel 17:41-44] Goliath walked out toward David with his shield bearer ahead of him, [42] sneering in contempt at this ruddy-faced boy. [43] “Am I a dog,” he roared at David, “that you come at me with a stick?” And he cursed David by the names of his gods. [44] “Come over here, and I’ll give your flesh to the birds and wild animals!” Goliath yelled. Goliath was __________ up David, but David was sizing up ____________. [Psalm 69:30 NET] I will sing praises to God's name! I will magnify him as I give him thanks! You have an ______________ advantage when you give _____________ to God! [Ephesians 5:20] And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. You can't always control the ___________________ you are in, but you can control what you focus on. [Psalm 118:24] This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. God is ____________ than He seems.

  • AFTERMATH: The Rest | Joe Stublarec
    2025/05/18

[2 Chronicles 5:11-14 NKJV] And it came to pass when the priests came out of the [Most] Holy [Place] (for all the priests who [were] present had sanctified themselves, without keeping to their divisions), [12] and the Levites [who were] the singers, all those of Asaph and Heman and Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, stood at the east end of the altar, clothed in white linen, having cymbals, stringed instruments and harps, and with them one hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets-- [13] indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers [were] as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, [saying]: "[For He is] good, For His mercy [endures] forever," that the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud, [14] so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God.

A ____________________ mentality is not the problem. It’s a symptom of the real problem: _______________ from truth.

[Matthew 11:27-29 NKJV] "All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and [the one] to whom the Son wills to reveal [Him]. [28] "Come to Me, all [you] who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. [29] "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Transformative Rest comes when God to reveals the __________ about ___________ in the light of the truth about ___________.

    [John 21:11-17 NKJV]

[Hebrews 3:12-15; 4:8-9 NKJV] Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; [13] but exhort one another daily, while it is called "Today," lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. [14] For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, [15] while it is said: "Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion." [4:8] For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day. [9] There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.

    The Promised Land of “Rest” is not a ___________ or a ___________, it’s a ___________.

    [Exodus 20:18-21 NKJV]

[Hebrews 10:11-14 NKJV] And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. [12] But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, [13] from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. [14] For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

Jesus took our ___________ in the sacrifice so we could ___________ ___________ in His place of rest.

[Hebrews 4:11-13 NKJV] Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. [12] For the word of God [is] living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. [13] And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things [are] naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we [must give] account.

    [Genesis 32:24-30 NKJV]

  • MIND GAMES: I Doubt It (November 12, 2017) | Judah Thomas
    2025/05/16

Mind game: a psychological tactic used to ___________ or _______________. The devil will attack us with ___________. When doubt comes it can ________________ our faith or ________________ our faith. [John 1:29-30] The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! [30] He is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘A man is coming after me who is far greater than I am, for he existed long before me.’ John is the first one to _____________ that Jesus is the Messiah. [Matthew 11:2-3] John the Baptist, who was in prison, heard about all the things the Messiah was doing. So he sent his disciples to ask Jesus, 3 “Are you the Messiah we’ve been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else?” Even people with strong faith ask __________ _______________ in stressful times. [Matthew 11:4-11] Jesus told them, “Go back to John and tell him what you have heard and seen— [5] the blind see, the lame walk, those with leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Good News is being preached to the poor.” [6] And he added, “God blesses those who do not fall away because of me.” [7] As John’s disciples were leaving, Jesus began talking about him to the crowds. “What kind of man did you go into the wilderness to see? Was he a weak reed, swayed by every breath of wind? [8] Or were you expecting to see a man 'dressed in expensive clothes? No, people with expensive clothes live in palaces. [9] Were you looking for a prophet? Yes, and he is more than a prophet. [10] John is the man to whom the Scriptures refer when they say, ‘Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, and he will prepare your way before you.’ [11] “I tell you the truth, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John the Baptist. Yet even the least person in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he is! John had doubts, but instead of ________________ on them, he ___________________ them. [James 1:5-8] Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God—who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly—and it will be given to him. [6] But let him ask in faith without doubting. For the doubter is like the surging sea, driven and tossed by the wind. [7] That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord, [8] being double-minded and unstable in all his ways. Doubt HAPPENS. Doubt causes us to focus on what we ___________ do rather than on what God __________ do. Doubt should drive us to seek ______________. [Luke 11:9-10] “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you. [10] For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
