Road Schooling: Education on the Go

In this episode of TravelEssary, we’re diving into how we handle homeschooling while full-time in our RV. We chat about what’s working (and what’s not), how we balance structured learning with spontaneous adventures, and the real-life lessons our kids are picking up along the way. From geography to local culture to hands-on history in national parks.

We talk about the flexibility road schooling gives us, but also the challenges, like staying consistent and figuring out what “school” looks like when your classroom is always changing. If you’ve ever wondered how to mix travel and education or just want to hear how we’re making it work (with plenty of grace and coffee), this episode’s for you.

***We know we were supposed to have a guest speaker this week bringing all of your essential RV gear to the table, but said guess went and had an accident and was injured, so we're postponing that episode... it happens, lol ***

Staying Connected & Working on the Road

In this episode of TravelEssary, we’re diving into one of the most common questions we get: How do you stay connected and work remotely while traveling?

We’re sharing our honest experiences with internet options on the road—what’s worked, what hasn’t, and why Starlink has become a game-changer for us (plus what it costs and what you can expect).

We also chat about different ways people earn money while traveling—think DoorDash, Uber, mobile businesses, work camping, and more. If you’re dreaming about hitting the road but wondering how to make it financially sustainable, this one’s for you.

And of course, we couldn’t forget about public wifi. We talk about where to find reliable connections (hello libraries and coffee shops) and how we make those spots work for us.

To wrap things up, we touch on finding a good work/travel balance—because let’s face it, remote life still needs boundaries—and we give a little teaser for next week’s episode with a guest expert on all things RV gear and essentials.

One Year Podcasting: From Dream to Reality

It’s been one whole year of podcasting, and honestly… we can’t believe it either. In this episode, we’re looking back on the journey, from daydreaming about this podcast to actually hitting the road full-time and recording from our RV.

We’re sharing what it’s really been like to leave behind our old jobs, sell our house, trade “normal life” and a whole lot of learning on the fly.

You’ll hear the highs, the struggles, and everything in between, from figuring out mics and to finding those little-known gems that make this life so worth it.

We also talk about what’s next for us, how we’re hoping to grow, and why staying real with you all is still our top priority.

Thanks for being part of this crazy ride. We’re just getting started.
