In this episode we deconstruct what it means to be a damsel, and more specifically, a black damsel. We delve into the history of black women and its implications for black women in our current society. We share our first damsel experiences and how those influenced our journeys towards winning back our femininity and discovering what we are worth. At the end of the episode, we drop pearls of wisdom to our fellow black damsels.
Terminology used:
Mbokodo: literal meaning a grinding stone, a rock; solid and untouchable. Colloquial usage "wathinta abafazi, wathinta imbokodo" translates to "you strike a woman, you strike a rock".
