In 2022 Samantha Kruper-Peck was arrested in Woodland Park and charged with two felony counts of attempting to influence a public servant, because she called in a complaint against a woman who appeared to be drunk and about to drive. It turns out the woman was the wife of a local school board member who Samantha and others were working to recall. That school board member is also an Assistant District Attorney in the Teller County DA's office. He recommended to the Teller County Sheriff’s office that they charge Samantha with the felonies.
In July of this year Samantha was acquitted on all charges. We'll tell you how long the jury deliberated. We also examine whether or not this was an abuse of power by the DA’s office. Ultimately, we'll leave that to you to decide. But let us know what you think of this case and the outcome by leaving your comments on our Facebook page at: We Have Issues
