You have done nothing to deserve to be mentally or physically abused. If you are being abused, please reach out for help. By accepting the abuse from a spouse, parent, partner, or stranger, you are enabling them, not protecting them. Please seek help to protect yourself, your family, and others.  https://www.thehotline.org/get-help/

Mental illness does not mean you are broken. It only means you need help overcoming the hurdles life has laid before you. Please seek help rather than suffer from the voices of negative self-talk. There are resources to help you break free from the pain.

SAMHSA’s National Helpline, 1-800-662-HELP (4357), (also known as the Treatment Referral Routing Service) or TTY: 1-800-487-4889 is a confidential, free, 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year, information service, in English and Spanish, for individuals and family members facing mental and/or substance use disorders. This service provides referrals to local treatment facilities, support groups, and community-based organizations.

As members of our armed services, first responders, and others willing to fight for freedom and for others, you charged into danger while others ran for cover. Your eyes have seen horrors that will live with you for the rest of your life. The drowning cries for help from the bottom of a ship in Pearl Harbour haunted my grandfather until his death. The jungles of Vietnam still haunt my Uncles, as do the deserts of the middle east and our streets. It is not a sign of weakness to allow a fellow brother or sister to lift you up. Please don't suffer in silence. Break the cycle of pain.
