We also discuss the fast, interesting, and ultimately tragic life of Louis Mucciolo. • Episode 4 - Incredibly Strange Wrestling
    2021/06/09

The wrestling promotion “Incredibly Strange Wrestling”  was a San Francisco-based professional wrestling promotion, that combined elements of Lucha Libre, over the top sometimes hilarious and morally broken gimmicks with performances by punk, rockabilly, garage, psychobilly, and thrash metal bands. So much so they even toured with Lalapalooza!

What began as a loveable satire of Lucha Libre turned into a successful wrestling promotion that sold out the Fillmore in San Francisco various times over. Take a deep dive as we cover gimmicks ranging from “El Pollo Diablo, Americon Man, Libido Gigante, Macho Sasquatcho, & more. Some we can’t even cover out of respect for humanity. Come hear the tale of this promotion that burned bright and ended quickly during its short lived run on this week’s Wrestling Wiki.

Also learn about this week’s jobber of the week "MR. HOLE IN ONE." A golfer turned wrestling gimmick where he would challenge wrestlers to see who the better putter was at the beginning on many matches. Enjoy!

  • Episode 3 - Bastion Booger
    2021/05/31

In this action packed episode 3 we examine a man reduced from mountain to maniac, from holy man to booger, the legendary Mike Shaw. From high heights in Canada's Stampede and NWA All-Star wrestling to comical lows in the WCW and WWF, we chronicle this walking compendium of gimmicks that time has largely forgotten. Following multiple successful championship runs in Canada, his repackaging in America began with a comedy act centering around him being a vulgar friar and ending with him cast as Bastion Booger, a persona reportedly engineered to be a punishment from WWF creative, transforming him into a repulsive mess clad in a grey, strappy diaper. The indignities endured by this seven-time champion made him a perfect subject for our humble platform which allows us to, in our own little way, give Mike Shaw the final main eventer push he was so unfairly denied.

We also bring you white-hot jobber headlines in our very first news segment! Fresh from the absolute whirlwind of impropriety that is the current political climate, a wrestler that we were considering for a jobber spotlight ends up entangled in not only financial intrigue, but extraterrestrial exploration!
