Reeves was born in Beirut, Lebanon, to Patricia Taylor, an English costume designer and performer, and Samuel Nowlin Reeves Jr., a Hawaiian geologist. His parents divorced when he was young, and he moved with his mother and sister to Toronto, Canada.
