The individual identity is the Son of God. It is that I speak of you or to you, or speak of myself, I mean really our imagination. That is permanent. You read about the flood, and you think, "Well, certainly that happened unnumbered - if it ever did happen, it happened unnumbered years ago." This morning, as is my custom, I turned on channel KFAC. That is a radio station that plays through the day and night, 24 hours a day, only lovely classical music; only a few interruptions.

The Bible is a mystery, to be known only by revelation. You can sit down and think about it and rationalize from now to the ends of time, if it is not revealed in you, you will not know it. And the majority of the teachers of the world take the traditions of men and teach it as fact, and so we come, then, to one Bible with these preconceived misconceptions of the great revelation of God to man.

Tonight's subject is: Pre-Existence. For every child born of woman, there is a son of God in the heavens, who is his ancestral Self. He is buried in you. He is the Reality of man. The Bible speaks of this son as Jesus Christ, the true identity of every child born of woman. God became man, that man may become God.

You find this in the First Commandment in the book of Exodus, the 20th chapter. “I am the Lord your God, who have brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before me” (Exodus 20:2), followed by the Second: “Make no image, whether on earth, the heavens, or below the sea.” (Exodus 20:4)

Your imagination will work out the means to realize your dream while your conscious mind sleeps. Bring your five senses into play as you perform your imaginal activity. Actually hear a friend's voice congratulating you or feel yourself hugging that person. If you wanted a new piano, run your hand over the smooth wood, touch the keys, and listen to the sound. If you want to receive a dozen roses, actually smell the fragrance and touch their velvety petals.

I don't think it will disturb anyone, but there are adjustments to be made concerning what man believes God to be, and what God really is.

In the second letter of Paul to the Corinthians, the very last chapter, the 13th, the author calls upon all of us - for, he is addressing us. Although it was written 2000 years ago, Paul really addresses everyone in the world, and he says: "Examine yourselves, to see whether you are holding to your faith. Test yourselves. Do you not realize that Jesus Christ is in you?"

God only acts and is in existing beings or men. Embracing the fires of experience, God was consumed by the flames, rose from their ashes, and continues to rise as Jesus Christ, or divine imagination. Good and evil are not conditions imposed by some benevolent deity but states the soul must experience in order to surpass them and awaken as God himself.

Change your conception of yourself. Revalue yourself and you will automatically change your world. Man has always played the losing game by attempting to change his world, while he himself remained with his present values or conceptions of himself. Jesus discovered this law. So instead of changing men he changed himself. He said, "And now I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth." He found himself to be the truth of all that he saw his world to be.

I trust that you will find tonight's message a very practical one, because today there are so many reading the paper and believing what they see and what they hear on radio and TV about the depression and the recession and this, that, and the other. Now tonight, let me tell you who you are.
