After York's claims to the throne, Henry changes the succession and makes York his heir, disinheriting his own son. Henry's queen kills York, and York's son Edward seizes the throne. Henry is imprisoned several times and eventually killed by King Edward's brother, Richard.

Against the wishes of the nobles, King Henry marries the penniless Margaret, who plots against him with her lover. As tensions between York and Lancaster build, the duke of York gathers supporters for his claim to the throne. York secretly leads a rebellion, his supporters proclaim him king and Henry is forced to flee.

King Henry IV suffers from illness, so his youngest son, Prince John, fights the rebels, while Prince Hal prepares to be king. Meanwhile, Hal's friend Falstaff causes trouble, recruits and speaks ill of Hal. Henry dies and Hal becomes King Henry V. He banishes Falstaff from court, ready to wage war on France.

While his son Price Hal spends time in the taverns, King Henry IV argues with his former ally Hotspur. Angry, Hotspur gathers a rebellion and Henry and Hal go to battle to stop him. Henry's army wins the battle, while Hal redeems himself from his wild youth and kills Hotspur.

The ghost of the king of Denmark tells his son Hamlet to avenge his murder by killing the new king, Hamlet's uncle. Hamlet feigns madness, contemplates life and death and seeks revenge. His uncle, fearing for his life, also devises plots to kill Hamlet. The play ends with a duel, during which the king, queen, Hamlet's opponent and Hamlet himself are all killed.

King Cymbeline of Britain banishes his daughter Imogen's husband, who then makes a bet on Imogen's fidelity. Imogen is accused of being unfaithful, runs away and becomes a page for the Roman army as it invades Britain. In the end, Imogen clears her name, discovers her long-lost brothers and reunites with her husband while Cymbeline makes peace with Rome.

Roman General Coriolanus makes his name defeating an enemy army and defending Rome. The Senate nominates him as consul, but he cannot win the people's vote, so he is banished from Rome and allies with his old enemy. He comes to attack Rome, his mother persuades him not to and his new-found ally kills him for the betrayal.

Forced into exile in the Forest of Arden, lovers Rosalind and Orlando become entangled in a beguiling game of love, lust and mistaken identity. Rosalind and her cousin escape into the forest and find Orlando, Rosalind's love. Disguised as a boy shepherd, Rosalind has Orlando woo her under the guise of 'curing' him of his love for Rosalind. Rosalind reveals she is a girl and marries Orlando during a group wedding at the end of the play.

Mark Antony, one of three rulers of Rome, is in love with Cleopatra, queen of Egypt. Antony is summoned back to Rome, where he clashes with another ruler, Octavius, before returning to Cleopatra in Egypt. Now in battle with Octavius, Antony and Cleopatra suffer losses and miscommunication and both eventually commit suicide.

Helen heals the king of France, and the king grants her permission to marry Bertram, the man she loves. Bertram rejects her and leaves a list of tasks that she must do to have him acknowledge their marriage. She follows him to Italy, completes all the tasks and Bertram accepts her as his wife.

Shakespeare's most popular comedy, set in an enchanted forest with fairies, sparring lovers and a group of amateur actors who are putting on a play. Four Athenians run away to the forest only to have Puck the fairy make both of the boys fall in love with the same girl. The four run through the forest pursuing each other while Puck helps his master play a trick on the fairy queen. In the end, Puck reverses the magic, and the two couples reconcile and marry.

Falstaff es una mole de humanidad que se considera un caballero pero que en realidad es un sinvergüenza y un ladrón. Convencido de su propia elegancia y apostura cree que será fácil para el, cortejar a dos de las mujeres de los hombres más ricos de la ciudad, las señoras Ford y Page, para a través de ellas poder acceder a la riqueza de sus maridos. Ante las insinuaciones que por carta reciben ambas señoras, deciden darle a Falstaff una lección que no olvidará.

En esta divertida comedia de la mano de Puck, el pícaro duendecillo, vemos cómo el amor se convierte en magia, … ! si hasta el rocío de la mañana parece mágico !Aunque sea una comedia, no creais que está tan lejos de la realidad: en la obra parece que la persecución del amor tiene la virtud de convertirnos en tontos e irracionales.

Si nos paramos a pensar por un momento, ¿con qué identificamos la palabra Romeo? ¡Efectivamente¡ La palabra ya se ha convertido prácticamente en sinónimo de amante o enamorado. En la obra, Romeo experimenta un amor de tal pureza y pasión que cuando cree que el objeto su amor Julieta ha muerto.... El amor está por encima de cualquier otro valor y los enamorados van a desafiar a la sociedad y sus convenciones, estando dispuestos a romper con sus familias, sus amigos, e incluso con la autoridad.

Es una comedia romántica en la que a pesar de tener un final feliz Shakespeare nos enseña que el amor puede llegar a producir dolor. De hecho varios de los protagonistas dicen sufrir por amor. La confusión de géneros que se usa en la obra es un buen recurso para producir situaciones cómicas: Viola se disfraza como un hombre para protegerse y conseguir trabajo con el duque Orsino, pero su disfraz va a causar toda clase de enredos y por otro lado Shakespeare parece hacer un guiño a los que consideran la sacrosanta heterosexualidad un tanto aburrida.

El rey de Nápoles y sus servidores viajan en un barco cuando tienen que empezar a luchar contra una tempestad de tal magnitud que acaba rompiendo su barco en dos, cayendo todos al mar. Por suerte para ellos hay una isla muy cerca. Próspero que vive con su hija Miranda desde hace muchos años en su isla se queja de la injusticia que tuvo que sufrir cuando su hermano le arrebató el trono de Nápoles.

Dinero, amistad, matrimonio, raza, justicia, venganza, perdón amor...aparecen y se entrelazan constantemente en el mercader de VeneciaSe utiliza el dinero para diferenciar las clases sociales, los tipos de persona y en especial las aspiraciones de los personajes, tan dependientes de la frivolidad de la fortuna.El sentimiento de amistad de Basanio es más que evidente cuando dice: "A ti Antonio te lo debo todo en el dinero y en el amor".

Cuando Macbeth y Banquo cruzan un páramo de vuelta a casa tras su victoria frente a los ejércitos enemigos de Escocia y de su rey Duncan, se encuentran con tres brujas que profetizan que Macbeth será nombrado Barón de Cawdor y después rey de Escocia.También profetizan que Banquo empezará una dinastía de reyes escoceses. Tras desaparecer las brujas, llegan dos mensajeros del rey que les informan que el rey ha nombrado a Macbeth Barón de Cawdor.
