When I share one night with Luca, the captain of St. Dominic’s hockey team, The Cougars, and an alpha of a pride that has feuded with mine for generations, I think that’s all it is: One night. Two years ago my mate was killed by an enemy alpha and since that day, my daughter hasn’t spoken or even moved. Life hasn’t just been hard, it’s been awful. Coming to St. Dominic, all I’m hoping for is a fresh start with a new pride. I expected to have to struggle. What I didn’t expect was so much kindness and generosity from the shifters of St. Dominic. I didn’t expect Charlie either. Charlie isn’t just a cute and sexy alpha hockey player, he’s funny, and sweet. After two years of misery and grief, he’s a breath of fresh air.
