As a Knight, it was Edra’s job to cover up mytho crimes. Now, as Mythological Services Liaison, he must work with the police to keep his people safe. When the eggs of a rare greater dragon are stolen, Edra must find and return them before the mother razes the city.

Having given into desire and cemented their mating bond, Jordan and Edra are under pressure to keep their relationship a secret. Jordan fears his career will be over if it is discovered the that he is sleeping with the Mytho Liaison Officer. For Edra, there is no hiding his relationship as the werewolves can smell Jordan on his skin. He finds himself being shunned by some of the Mytho community because they view him as a traitor for bonding with a human.

All the lines of fate have been pulling Edra Tendric to LA. It is the last place he wants to go, leaving his mate Inspector Jordan Kells in San Francisco to deal with a fractured mytho population and an increasingly tense political situation. Someone wanted Edra removed as Mytho Liaison, and they got their way. With the exposure of their relationship, Jordan has to negotiate the fallout at work and among the people he called friends.

Negotiations with the LA vampires have failed. Having survived the attempted razing of their enclave by the dragons, the vampires are now holding Jordan’s sister hostage and are demanding a unicorn for her safe return. There’s only one problem. Unicorns aren’t animals. They are wild magic best left alone. Jordan holds the media responsible for Katie’s capture. If they had stayed out of his private life, she would’ve been safe.

The fallout of unicorn magic brings Jordan and Edra closer together. For Edra, the strengthened bond between them is exhilarating and terrifying, and everything he believed he’d never have again. But Jordan is struggling with defining what is him and what is Edra when he barely knows himself. When griffins descend on the city, killing several people, and then claim sanctuary from hunters, it’s up to Jordan and the rest of Mytho Investigations to uncover the truth before humans start calling for the griffins’ death.

Jordan and Edra aren’t the only ones thinking about their wedding, and some people don’t want it to happen. The destruction of several Mythological Services buildings around the country has revealed there are still people who view the mythological refugees as something less than human, despite the law now recognizing them as equal. When someone decides to stop the wedding, Jordan and Edra need to act fast…but this isn’t a battle they are fighting alone.

Sean Lloyd has given up on finding love. It’s easier to concentrate on his work as a mytho biologist than figure out people. But that was easier to believe in his twenties. Now his friends are getting engaged and planning weddings, and he’s only planning his next hook-up. He wants more, even if he isn’t sure what that looks like.
