Fresh out of college, she has accepted a teaching position in the small rustic town of Little Missouri, South Dakota. Amidst the beauty and charm of this small western town, Jane finds herself in the middle of a mysterious hit-and-run murder that has turned the town upside down. With her nose for misadventure, Jane is determined to uncover the truth and find out who the killer is. Along the way, she meets a cast of zany characters, from Merle Laird and his prized cow Snippy to the glitter-hating school janitor, Velma.
