The British Science Association have teamed up with Royal Museums Greenwich this year to bring this year’s British Science Week’s theme, ‘Time’, to life by inviting primary schools across the UK to join them for a live assembly hosted by their Curator of Time! British Science Week is now in its 30th year and focuses on all things science, technology, engineering and maths In this episode, we talk about:


    • How time connects with other areas of science
    • How you can get involved with British Science Week
    • The live assembly held in collaboration with Royal Museums Greenwich
    • The relationship between astronomy and time
    • And we create our very own sand timers!

    In this episode, Katie and Tahira speak to Kavina Upadhyay and Matt Hallsworth from Ocean Generation, a charity which aims to empower an inclusive global movement to tackle ocean threats through science and storytelling. They run UNESCO-endorsed engagement programmes for young people and have a youth programme for 3 – 25-year-olds to introduce young people to the importance of the Ocean, educate them about the ways we impact it and empower them with tools they can use to take action.

    Sarah Seaman, AKA the Muddy Puddle Teacher, began her career in the TV industry. After retraining as a teacher and completing an Education MA, Sarah spotted an opportunity in outdoor learning and in 2018 The Muddy Puddle Teacher Approach was born. This approach empowers teachers to embrace outdoor education, use sustainable and natural resources and deliver outdoor learning that has a long-lasting impact on children in early years education.
