  • 9. Navigating Mental Wellness and Therapy — For Real This Time
    2025/06/02

Let’s normalize checking in on your mind the same way you check in on your calendar. If your brain is running a mile a minute, your emotions feel all over the place, or you’ve been putting therapy on the “someday” list, this episode is for you.

In Episode 9 of Confessions of a Multi-Hyphenate, we’re unpacking what it looks like to care for your mental wellness; intentionally, creatively, and without shame. As multi-hyphenates, our minds are constantly juggling projects, people, and passion. And that means we need tools that support our inner world just as much as our outer hustle.

I’m sharing part of my own therapy journey, the lessons I’ve learned (and re-learned), and how mental wellness is not a one-and-done thing—it’s a lifelong rhythm.

5 Practical Strategies for Supporting Your Mental Wellness:

    1. Check-In Like You Mean It – Pause daily to ask: How am I, really? Let honesty lead.
    2. Use Movement as Medicine – Walks, stretching, or dance breaks help shift your energy.
    3. Normalize Non-Emergency Therapy – You don’t have to be in crisis to go. Therapy is maintenance, not a last resort.
    4. Schedule Rest Like You Schedule Work – Put it on your calendar and protect it.
    5. Try Digital Detox Moments – Unplug to reconnect with your own thoughts and feelings.

Quote of the Week:Mental health needs a great deal of attention. It’s the final taboo and it needs to be faced and dealt with.” — Adam Clayton Powell Jr.

Multi-Hyphenate Move of the Week: Choose one mental wellness activity to schedule this week. This could be therapy, journaling, a solo walk, rest, or a quiet reset.

Challenge: Don’t cancel it. Don’t move it. Keep that appointment—with yourself.

Your mental health is not a side project—it’s the core of everything you’re building. Give it the same attention you give your next launch, your next gig, or your next idea. Because the real glow-up? Starts in your mind.

  • 8. Who Let Me In Here?! Navigating Imposter Syndrome
    2025/05/12

Episode 8: Who Let Me In Here?! Navigating Imposter Syndrome

Ever find yourself in a room or on a stage or scrolling through your own feed like… “Who let me in here?” Yep—welcome to the world of imposter syndrome, where self-doubt tries to convince you that you don’t belong.

In this episode of Confessions of a Multi-Hyphenate, we’re unpacking what imposter syndrome looks like (especially for folks juggling multiple passions and titles), why it shows up, and how to shut it all the way down. Because let’s be clear—you didn’t stumble into your greatness. You earned it.

5 practical strategies to navigate imposter syndrome:

    1. Name it when it shows up
    2. Keep a “receipts” folder of wins & kind words
    3. Lean into your support system
    4. Stop waiting to feel 100% “ready”
    5. Embrace the awkwardness of growth

Quote of the Week: “I had to believe in who I was and what I was doing. If I didn’t, why would anyone else?” — Issa Rae

Multi-Hyphenate Move of the Week: Write down 3 things you’re proud of—big or small. Then speak them out loud. Repeat after me: “I deserve to be here.”

Imposter syndrome isn’t just about insecurity—it’s about internalized pressure, perfectionism, and the fear of being “found out.” For multi-hyphenates, it can be even more intense. Why? Because we often wear many hats and take unconventional paths. It can leave us wondering if we really belong.

  • 7. Beyond the Spa Day: Navigating Self-Care as a Multi-Hyphenate
    2025/05/05

Episode 7: Beyond the Spa Day: Navigating Self-Care as a Multi-Hyphenate

In this episode, we’ll talk about how to incorporate true self-care into your routine, especially as a multi-hyphenate. It’s easy to forget about your own needs when you're juggling multiple roles and responsibilities. But we’ve got to be intentional about taking care of ourselves—because if we don’t put ourselves at the top of the to-do list, no one else will. Whether it's making space for creative play, disconnecting from digital noise, or simply prioritizing rest, self-care isn’t just about pampering—it’s about building a routine that fuels your productivity and well-being.

5 practical tips to practice real self-care:

    1. Redefine What Counts as Self-Care

    2. Build Energy-Giving Routines

    3. Schedule Regular Intentional Breaks

    4. Create Boundaries Around Your Time

    5. Engage in No-Obligation Socializing

Quote: "Self-care is not a luxury; it is a necessity." – Audre Lorde

Multi-Hyphenate Move of the Week: This week, let’s implement a Digital Detox strategy. Dedicate at least one hour of your day to being completely offline—no emails, no social media, just time for yourself. Use this time to recharge, reflect, or simply enjoy being present. You'll be amazed at how much more refreshed you feel after disconnecting. Try starting in the morning if you normally scroll before getting out of bed.

Self-care isn’t one-size-fits-all—it’s about finding what works best for you and your life. Whether it’s through mindful mornings, taking breaks, or just getting away from screens, it’s time to start putting yourself at the top of your to-do list. Thank you for tuning in today!
