Katie sat down with Stacy Wilson, a Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner at Good Samaritan, to talk about colorectal cancer awareness. While March is the month for awareness on this cancer, it is important to be diligent about your care year-round. Stacy discusses the different methods of screening for colorectal cancer as well as how to prepare for a colonoscopy.

Katie sat down with Nicole Coomer, Director of the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation, to discuss the new Caregiver Recognition program. This program is an opportunity for patients to recognize their caregivers in a lasting and meaningful way. With a monetary donation, patients are able to choose where their support is allocated within the hospital. These categories include patient assistance, scholarships, and much more. Nicole also discusses how much the Foundation raised in 2023 and what they were able to do with those funds.

In this episode, Katie speaks with Mallory Tague, the Nursing Performance Improvement Coordinator at Good Samaritan, about Magnet. This marks Good Samaritan's fourth consecutive Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, an honor that less than 3% of U.S. hospitals receive. Mallory discusses what this means for patients and caregivers, and our commitment to quality care.

In this episode, Katie speaks with Jamie Kroeger, the bereavement and volunteer coordinator, and Kenzie Barrett, the Infusion and Hospice Nurse Manager, about different groups offered at Good Samaritan. One of these groups, Caregiver Support Group, was born out of a suggestion for a resource for those experiencing caregiver burnout. Also offered is options for those dealing with grief. This includes a grief support group and camp for children experiencing grief. Jamie and Kenzie discuss how to get involved with these resources and how to reserve your spot.
