  • Ep. 011 | The Anatomy of a Generational Curse: Part 1
    2024/09/02

Discussions around Generational Curses tend to suggest a mystical occurrence loaded with disempowering language. But what if we could transition to the term “Generational Dysfunction” and have empowering conversations about healing from and interrupting those patterns?

Just like healing the body requires an understanding of the human anatomy, how about we begin healing Generational Dysfunction with a dive into the anatomy of the chaos.

This podcast contains raw audio of my own innervention on the topic. I named it Part 1 because I’m sure I’ll return to this conversation over and over…

You can find all other Innervention Podcast episodes at hawabond.com or most podcast platforms. You can also follow my One-Year Challenge or schedule one-on-one time with me.

  • Ep. 010 | Healing is a Journey of a Million Little Things
    2024/03/21

Your family may be a den of Generational Dysfunction, but you’re always free to heal, which I call the Journey of a Million Little Things.

This episode is my answer to a question sent by one of my followers, and I’m deeply grateful for her permission to give this public response. She shared about the challenges her family faces when trying to communicate about their feelings and how her efforts to improve those communications haven’t resulted in much change. She spoke briefly about her own experience with pain and her battle with feeling unworthy.

My initial response was to take her eyes off the external stuff (family communication) and deal with her own healing from the inside out. She asked what that looked like for me, and whammo, here we are.

  • Ep. 009 | Self-Care Part 3: War, Retreat, and Surrender
    2023/12/27

Do you understand (or better yet, exercise) the power of effectively deciding when to be at war, when to retreat, and when to surrender? Do you understand how radical accountability can bring delicious peace to your life?

Most people at war with others, self, and situations experience unnecessary chaos and need a serious dose of self-care.

This is the third installment in my self-care series to which I’ll keep adding until I believe I have exhausted all of my thoughts on the topic – which likely means the series will never end.

  • Ep. 008 | Are You The Architect Of Your Own Suffering?
    2023/12/12

Can you write an entire book on the people and situations that disturb your peace and impede your success? If so, I hope you’re the main character. Spoiler alert, you’re the ONLY character.

Today, I offer one of the most powerful innerventions that triggered massive transitions in my journey. There was a time my life was utter chaos, more internally than externally, although both were a hot ass mess. I had no idea how to achieve peace as my insides felt like a slow and continuous burn and churn. I was anxious and having panic attacks so bad that I endured several trips to the emergency room. It was my parents, my husband, my kids, my job, my neighborhood – or so I thought.

My transition to deep peace and genuine happiness started the moment I asked hard questions about my role in my own suffering. This episode is a hot mic moment sharing my thoughts on the critical need to ask ourselves, “Am I the architect of my own suffering?”

  • Ep. 007 | Grief and Loss - Losing Mom
    2023/11/28

What does early grief look like when adjusting to the new normal of losing your mother? I recorded this episode eight months after my mother passed while in the process of settling her estate and learning to sit in the space of feeling like a motherless child.

As I return to podcasting well over a year since the last episode, I promise to periodically include more content about grief and loss - as I continue to unpack this bold new era of life.

  • Ep. 006 | Self-Care Part 2: What's God Got To Do With It?
    2022/05/21
(Did you sing that title in your Tina Turner voice?)

When was the last time you asked yourself “What do I believe, and WHY do I believe it…”
when it comes to the question of God and your spiritual walk?

How you define your spiritual nature becomes the moral compass – the guidebook – for how you move about the world. What you decide becomes the foundation for how you treat yourself, others, and ultimately the planet.

I have no dogs in the fight here. I honor the atheist with the same love and respect I regard the Bible-thumping Christian or anyone else for that matter. I’m far less concerned about your belief system than I am about WHY you believe what you choose believe.

Does your spiritual belief (and any religious expression of that belief) carry a coherent purpose that leads you to your best and favorite self? Or does it serve as a weapon you formed out of fear and bring uncomfortable angst to your table?

You can’t be in a state of self-care without answering the question of your spiritual nature.

    Let’s get into it…

If you missed Part 1 of the Self-Care series, make sure you catch up here where I clarify my personal definition of self-care: https://www.hawabond.com/podcast/episode/2916499e/ep-002-or-self-care-part-1-the-problem-with-self-care

  • Ep. 005 | Your Reaction Seals Your Fate
    2022/04/27
I remember when I heard first responders describe how often panic reactions result in fatalities – not the emergency itself. This is apparently true when it comes to drownings, fires, and even natural disasters. I came to understand the power of learning how to react in an emergency.

Can the same be said for our personal lives? As a resounding YES, I discuss how we should take our eyes off of the circumstances (and the people who play a part) and deal with our reactions to get the best outcomes possible.

Can you think of a time your reaction to a conflict was more damaging than the conflict itself? Were there times you could have changed an entire result by making one different choice?

As always, I’d love to hear your feedback on this episode: https://www.hawabond.com/podcastreactions

And if you have a friend going through some personal challenges that seem to pop up over and over again, share this episode with them to provide the strength, courage, and PERMISSION to tweak their response from a new perspective.

  • Ep. 004 | The Proper Way to Flip a Script
    2022/04/19
If there’s an area of your life where you can’t seem to find a solution or it’s an issue stuck on repeat – you may just need to flip the script to find a new perspective that reveals a new avenue.
I heard of this technique many years ago, but I was slow when it came to actually using it. Like many, I was satisfied having the information without actually applying that knowledge to my benefit.
And even if you can’t find a new avenue to change the situation, you can always find a new version of YOU to change the way you experience the challenge.

This may be the shortest episode in podcast history, but that’s ok. The gold is in the time you spend DOING after HEARING this quick bit.

As always, I’d love to hear your feedback on this episode: https://www.hawabond.com/podcastreactions
