  • #22 Andrew Abraham - Ethics in coaching
    2024/11/10

In this episode I'm joined by Dr Andrew Abraham, head of subject in sport coaching and physical education at Leeds Beckett University. We discuss the tricky and perhaps over bracketed topic of ethics in coaching.

    Issues discussed include:

    - The need for coaching to evolve with ethics in its next stage of professionalisation

    - Positively conceiving of ethical coaching practice beyond pure legality, for greater reflective conversation and development

    - Ethical conundrums in the coaching role, and practical frameworks to consider decisions

    - Question of centralised or localised ethical governance in coaching, and fair representation for coaches (do we need a coach's union?)

    - Plus more!
