  • Rolling Into Wellness: Jill Miller's Path to Body Connection
    2023/12/10

This week’s podcast episode I had the honor of interviewing Jill Miller. Jill is a pioneer in forging relevant links between the worlds of fitness, yoga, athletics, massage, and pain-management, having studied movement and the human body for more than 30 years.

In this episode, we dove into her personal journey of not feeling grounded in her own body, battling disordered eating, and struggling to connect with her core. A pivotal part of Jill’s recovery was a practice she had every morning doing self-abdominal massage by lying on towels which opened up a space for her to connect with her emotions and discern what her body truly required.

Jill is the creator of Yoga Tune Up®️ and The Roll Model®️ Method, one focused on movement biomechanics, and the other on self-massage & soft tissue recovery/precovery. Both formats support regenerative and performance-based functions to help your body erase pain, reduce stress and improve mobility no matter your stage of fitness or health.

During the podcast, Jill shares the surprising amount of feedback she received from The Roll Model, of how many folks experienced some sort of emotional release from rolling. Jill breaks down how and why this happens from a physiological level. We also unpacked the incredible journey of writing her latest book, "Body by Breath," which took a whopping eight years. Jill breaks down the three zones of breathing and more.

This episode is like a treasure trove of information – packed to the brim with insights and knowledge.
