  • I Ate Carbs For 9 Months ☠️ And It Didn't Go Well

    ☠️ I followed the directions from my medical professionals and ate carbs for 9 months and this is what happened...

    Yup, I was super excited to eat all the carbs - especially when your best friends own an amazing Italian restaurant.

    In January, I began working with a new dietitian and nutritionist after feeling frustrated with my previous office, where I had been a patient for ten years. The difficulty in scheduling appointments, rather than a lack of care, was the primary issue that prompted this change.

    They advised me that adopting a low-carb lifestyle wasn't the optimal choice for an athlete like me and recommended increasing my carbohydrate intake from 40 grams to a whopping 200 grams. It felt like Christmas!

    For months, I've been grappling with worsening headaches, body aches, difficulty concentrating, and poor sleep. The medical team assured me that I would improve, yet things only worsened. I've gained 10 pounds, my body dysmorphic issues have resurfaced, and I've been feeling utterly miserable!

    I recently received the results from my lab work, and I found out that while some of my numbers decreased, others increased, creating chaos! After a thorough reassessment, we concluded that returning to a low-carb diet is what my body truly needs.

    After just a week on it, I feel significantly better. My body seems to respond wonderfully to this structured environment.

  • Honor Yourself & Listen To What You Need ✌🏻

    🫠 I can honestly say that I was exhausted from all the birthday celebrations...

    I love my family & friends but my mental state and body would say other wise. Im such a social person and love to be with others, entertain and make people laugh - but litlerly by body will crash after vibing at a high vibration for such a long time.

    That's why we need to honor your body by listening to what it needs.

    My clients always ask me "What does this mean?"

    "Honoring yourself" means recognizing your worth, values, wants, needs, and making decisions that align with those aspects. It’s about showing yourself respect, setting boundaries, and prioritizing your overall wellness.

    This can manifest in different ways:

    1. Self-care: Taking care of your physical, emotional, and mental wellness.
    2. Setting Boundaries: Knowing your limits and communicating them effectively to others.
    3. Following Your Truth: Making choices that are true to your values, even if they differ from societal expectations.
    4. Forgiving Yourself: Letting go of past mistakes or regrets and moving forward with compassion.
    5. Celebrating Your Achievements: Acknowledging and taking pride in what you accomplish, big or small.

    In essence, it's about living authentically and making sure your actions, thoughts, and feelings reflect respect and love for yourself.

  • My Dog Walked Herself To School 🤦🏼‍♀️ It's Virgo Season

    🫠 I think we all feel like this about now...

    My dog decided to walk off the property and down to the school this week. Thank god, she didn't get to far until a very nice teacher retrieved her back to the house.

    Tessa is getting older and that was my fault for not watching her. I take for granted for 16 years she was super good at staying in the yard minding her own business. Now shes like hells not, i'm an old lady and Im breaking all the laws!

    Speaking of breaking laws - the fire alarm went off in yoga! Well that was very relaxing way to end class today. Im super bummed that I left my mat strap in there. Never to be found again.
