  • A Conversation with "Flashback Girl"
    2021/02/28
We are talking with Dr. Lise Deguire author of the brilliant, heartbreaking, yet inspiring new book, Flashback Girl: Lessons on Resilience from a Burn Survivor.  In 1967, when Lise was only 4 years old, she was burned over 65% of her body and spent most of her childhood in the hospital, undergoing countless surgeries and enduring more trauma than any human being should have to endure. It's important to remember that in 1967, burn victims were not put in medically induced comas to shield them from the pain. In fact, children were not given ANYTHING for the pain. After Lise left the hospital, her life didn’t get easier. She dealt with disfigurement, bullying, parental neglect and family suicides. This would be enough to break anyone. But incredibly, Lise did not only persevere, but has become successful in every sense of the word.  Lise attended Tufts University and later earned her doctorate in Clinical psychology from Widener University. She has a thriving private practice and a wonderful husband and two amazing daughters.  But before all this, she went through virtual hell and in this episode we to talk to her about the details of that fateful day in 1967, the toxic relationship she had with her mother, the suicide of her favorite person in the world, and of course, the many lessons she learned in resilience.  We strongly urge everyone to read Lise's book. It will leave you inspired and in awe. • Plant Medicine with The Chocolate Shaman
    2021/02/14
Most of us know that cacao is considered a super food—in fact it has the highest antioxidant content of any food. But there is so much more to cacao and we were eager to learn more!  We're talking with Keith Wilson, also known as The Chocolate Shaman. Originally a geologist, Keith traveled to Guatemala and in 2003 decided to make it his home doing energy work, healing work and all the things he loved to do.  One day sitting by the river, he has a visit from The Chocolate Spirit. Keith realized that he had been invited by this Spirit to reintroduce cacao, this plant with powerful medicinal properties to a world that had, for the most part, forgotten about it.  With the help of the Chocolate Spirit, Keith was able to locate the cacao he would work with it and began experimenting with it and producing it the way it was made thousands of years ago. After a few months he began passing it around to others.  Well, people started sharing their journeys with Keith about what they experienced with the chocolate.  Keith began holding workshops and still does so today. He also manages the production crew in Guatemala to produce ceremonial grade cacao for his company, Keith’s cacao.   In this episode we talk with Keith about his experience with the Chocolate Spirit, the benefits of cacao, it’s important role in the world and why it's called "The Food for the Shift." Tune into this fascinating conversation!  Connect with Keith https://www.keithscacao.com (https://www.keithscacao.com) https://ceremonialcacao.blogspot.com/ (https://ceremonialcacao.blogspot.com/) Connect with Carol and Deb https://thedivinebreadcrumb.com (https://thedivinebreadcrumb.com) https://www.instagram.com/thedivinebreadcrumb/ (https://www.instagram.com/thedivinebreadcrumb/) https://www.facebook.com/thedivinebreadcrumb (https://www.facebook.com/thedivinebreadcrumb) https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-divine-breadcrumb/ (https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-divine-breadcrumb/) Support this podcast

Today we welcome back friend of the show, Reverend Stephanie Red Feather, PhD. If you missed our first interview with Stephanie, we highly recommend that you check it out. (Episode #68 - https://thedivinebreadcrumb.com/podcast/podcastDetail.cfm?pcID=76 (The Empath's Role in the World).)   Stephanie is founder of the Blue Star Temple as well as the author of the award-winning book The Evolutionary Empath which not only provides the tools to navigate the world as an empath or highly sensitive person, but ALSO explains WHAT their role IS in the world.  Because so many of our listeners are empaths, we wanted to bring Stephanie back to continue our discussion and delve further into the topics of embodiment, spiritual bypass and what Stephanie refers to as the “disembodiment epidemic.”  Stephanie says the goal is not to transcend the body, but taking those higher frequencies and bring them into our bodies.  We also talk about shadow work, why empaths are here, how we can turn the disembodiment epidemic around, and much more!  Connect with Stephanie https://www.bluestartemple.org/ (https://www.bluestartemple.org/) https://www.bluestartemple.org/embodimentmanual (https://www.bluestartemple.org/embodimentmanual) https://www.facebook.com/RevStephanieRedFeather (https://www.facebook.com/RevStephanieRedFeather) Connect with Carol and Deb https://thedivinebreadcrumb.com (https://thedivinebreadcrumb.com) https://www.instagram.com/thedivinebreadcrumb/ (https://www.instagram.com/thedivinebreadcrumb/) https://www.facebook.com/thedivinebreadcrumb (https://www.facebook.com/thedivinebreadcrumb) https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-divine-breadcrumb/ (https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-divine-breadcrumb/) Support this podcast

  • Healing Through Color!
    2020/12/13
Jean Ann Allen has been doing healing work for over 30 years and she continues to learn new modalities. Aside from color healing, Jean also practices acupuncture, different forms of massage, sound healing, native American healing, animal communication, crystal healing, and much more!  After college and receiving her degree in music, Jean headed to Los Angeles, determined to be on stage. But when she got to LA and saw the jealousy and competitiveness going on, she knew that wasn’t the life for her. She began to follow the Divine Breadcrumbs of what interested her.   After getting injured in a yoga class, a friend recommended acupuncture. She was hooked and, even though she had always thought she didn’t want to go back to school, she went to get her master’s degree and started her own practice.  But her music degree was about to be dusted off because she soon met a man from France who taught her about sound and color frequency healing. We had a chance to meet Jean prior to this show and as soon as we entered the Zoom room, Jean was singing and making us laugh—the best energy!   Sit back and enjoy as we talk with Jean about her ability to heal animals as a child, the science behind color healing, and more! Jean even gifts all of us with a beautiful meditation and healing – it begins at approximately 29:40. • The Gift of Connection
    2020/11/22
Our guest wrote a thought-provoking and heart-warming parable on the subject of connection--one of our favorite topics! We are talking with Daniel Bruce Levin, author of The Mosaic. Daniel has led an extraordinary life. Daniel's parents died when he was a kid, 2 years a part on the same day and, not surprisingly, these events had a huge impact on his life.  Early on, Daniel had the chance to work at a billion-dollar company and turned it down to hitchhike around the world. He instinctively knew that happiness and peace would not be found going the standard route. Later, Daniel says that when he was one day away from becoming an ordained Rabbi in Jerusalem, he left to come back to the United States. He had a bookstore in San Francisco and then spent 10 years in a Monastery.  If that wasn’t interesting enough, he then became the Director of Business Development at Hay House where he grew the business exponentially.  Daniel is somewhat of a modern mystic and has a unique ability to see things from many perspectives. Today we’ll be talking with him about the power of listening, why nothing is as it seems, and of course his book, The Mosaic. • Wonders of the Human Brain
    2020/11/08
The brain is fascinating, and we love discussions about neuroscience and how the brain works. That's why we were super excited to talk with Dr. Melissa Hughes, author of Happy Hour with Einstein and Happier Hour with Einstein, Another Round. Melissa has worked with everyone from students in a classroom to boardrooms in Fortune 1000 companies.  She combines her PhD in education with her vast experience in marketing communications with extensive research in neuroscience and behavioral psychology to share simple, applicable strategies that improve outcomes both at work and in our personal lives.  In the episode, Melissa explains how to manage stress and uncertainty and navigating the "us" vs. "them" mentality that has been so prevalent today.  We discuss how making connections with other human beings releases oxytocin in the brain, not only leaving you feel good, but also creating a chemical change in the other person's brain as well! Thanks to this conversation with Melissa, we created the Bumblebee Project! We also talk about the genesis of her book Happier Hour with Einstein, why doodling is a good thing, and why the Charlie Brown Christmas tree makes the perfect metaphor for neural connections! Join us for this fun and illuminating episode!
