  • 09. Parents' Expectations, Being Only Child, Boundaries with Parents
    2021/09/30

I've been a little quiet on TEU but I'm back for another podcast swap with my guest Tao who also has her own show! Tao and I both had Asian parents and we both are the only child growing up. However I was raised in China with traditional Asian culture, and she was raised in New Zealand with western culture around her. We shared our struggles and the good stuff we've experienced growing up. We talked about how we handled the pressure from parents' expectations, how we set boundaries with parents. Tao being a podcast host ended up asking me a lot of questions on my own show which was funny but I loved it! Hope you guys enjoy this episode and find some of the stuff we talk about relatable x

  • 08. Lockdown, Anxiety & Positive Mindfulness
    2021/08/19

New Zealand just got into Level 4 lockdown nation-wide. During this time of uncertainty, we all experience anxiety, stress and negative thoughts. My first solo episode here, to share how I navigate anxiety and stress in my internal world, while chaos and uncertainty is happening n the exterior physical world. With a very simple breathing technique at the end for you to practice today.

Some of my favourite podcasts that could find more peace in your inner world today and practice mindfulness. Remember the key is to actually practice. Practice breathing, practice meditation, practice journaling. Wish you all a beautiful and peaceful day today

    2021/07/11

Leaving an 18-year job was like leaving home for the first time for Sam. But her wise words on trusting gut instinct, her desire to grow, to be seen, to be valued have pushed her out of the comfort zone to take a leap of faith.

Have you taken a leap of faith before and made some huge life changes for yourself?

  • 05. After Relationship Breakups
    2021/07/07

Relationship breakups are hard, whether you're the person ending it or if you are the one being rejected. Mark Groves said, when you're so broken, it's an opportunity to put yourself back together from pieces, and become the person you've always wanted to be.

    Mark Groves Podcast:
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/mark-groves-podcast/id1282044290?mt=2
    or

Going through breakups are not easy. So it's okay to give yourself some time to grief, it's okay to feel shit, it's okay to not having your life on it's usual routine for a little while. But we need to self reflect, we need to be willing to put in the hard work to come out of the other end with brightness, positiveness and growth.

  • 04. Domestic Violence - Going Through It & Growing Up In It
    2021/06/30

    * Please share this episode to as many people as you can. You can save lives!

Sasha shared her traumatic experience of going through domestic violence for an entire year without telling family or friends. She also shared how she went through therapy afterwards to deal with her traumas and fear.

I shared my story growing up as a kid in a family with a lot of violence, in a culture that domestic violence is common (which is absolutely not okay). I also shared my experience and point of view for spotting and sensing a case of physical abuse.

Domestic violence, any form of physical or mental abuse is NOT okay. It's one of the most horrible way to release anger or frustration, dealing with conflict. Being physically hurt is such a horrible thing for any human being in general, but being physically hurt by someone you love and (you think that) loves you back is another level.

GET OUT of the situation if you're currently going through it. SPEAK UP! ASK FOR HELP! Staying in the relationship is not going to be any good for you or your children. Money, house, or anything is not worth sacrificing your own mental health and your children's entire childhood's happiness.

If you suspect or can sense any of your family, friends or even strangers going through violence, ASK THEM if they're okay. You can save that person's life, and save their kids childhood!

  • 03. Friendship Breakups That Hurt Us
    2021/06/27

Don't we all have drifted away with some good friends at some point in our lives, whether it's caused by an argument, miscommunication, moving cities or any reasons, the reality of the friendship breakup is that - it really hurts!

I learnt a ton from my friendship breakup and have done a lot of self reflection, which then turned it into a life lesson instead of just a sad memory.

    8 Emotions that was mentioned:

    • Joy
    • Trust
    • Fear
    • Surprise
    • Sadness
    • Disgust
    • Anger
    • Anticipation

You can ask each other (either in friendship or relationship) things in our daily/weekly life that triggers these emotions. The listener could only acknowledge without responding, whether these emotions are related to them or not.

  • 02. Long Distance Relationship
    2021/06/16

I was talking to my client Carla and found out that she has been on a 2 year long distance relationship with her partner. It's a long time for a lot of people! We caught up outside of work and connected as friends. I had a few questions on how they've made it work, and I'm sure a lot of you guys would have wondered about these questions at some point.

And for those of you that are in a long distance relationship right now, I hope this episode can bring some comfort to you and your partner, and raise some clarity for you too. It's certainly not easy, but there are a lot of positives could come out of a long distance relationship now I believe.
