  • So many people struggle with keeping their homes organized or even just kinda tidy. Their clutter makes them overwhelmed and stressed. So they turn to gurus who teach decluttering methods that are unrealistic and unsustainable. What if there was a way to get organized for everyone... not just the model homes... but the regular everyday "normal" people? Oh wait... there is a way. And as luck would have it, I happen to know someone who can help... Me. It's Me. I can help! I am The Hoss Lady, your Home Organization Simplification Specialist.

  • Transforming Lives: Coaching and Clutter
    2023/09/22

    Coach Kim is Here!!
Becky introduced Kim Arrington, who shared her experience of helping women over 40 transform their lives through coaching and her recently launched program, Half-life Weight Loss. Both emphasized the importance of practical and achievable steps in personal transformation. They discussed experiences with replacing emotional eating with other vices, and the issue of accumulating unnecessary clutter. Kim shared her journey of losing weight and how it led to increased spending and introduced the Dcr method from her course, which encourages self-discovery beyond societal influences. The conversation suggested that excessive shopping could be a sign of needing a new vice. Kim and Becky discussed strategies to overcome procrastination and manage overwhelming thoughts. Kim suggested making small changes, like going for a walk or getting a glass of water, to break up the monotony of larger tasks. Becky admitted that even while engaging in an enjoyable activity like crafting, she was still plagued with thoughts of unfinished tasks. Kim suggested practicing mindfulness, allowing thoughts to pass without getting caught up in them, as a tool to manage this. They concluded the conversation with an emphasis on recognizing the need for personal time and self-care. Kim and Becky discussed the importance of mindfulness and being present, particularly during mundane tasks like washing dishes. They suggested that these moments could be extended and used to cultivate a sense of peace and calm. They also acknowledged the role of shame in avoiding tasks and how this can lead to a cycle of avoidance and further accumulation of clutter. Becky shared her personal struggle with this issue and highlighted how shopping can sometimes be a way of seeking a dopamine hit to counteract feelings of shame. Kim and Becky discussed strategies to overcome their impulses to shop and make other unhelpful habits. Kim shared how she has managed to reduce her Amazon purchases and suggested that creating new habits, such as using items already owned, can provide a similar dopamine hit to shopping. They also talked about the importance of small, daily changes, like putting the remote back in its place, to alter patterns of behavior. They agreed that acceptance and willingness to change are crucial for personal growth. Kim and Becky discussed the importance of small, consistent actions and habits, such as always putting things back in their place.

    2023/08/25

Becky, The Hoss Lady discussed her perspective on the fear of letting go of possessions, emphasizing that everything is replaceable except for oneself and the people around them. She encouraged listeners to evaluate what is truly important and to not hold onto items out of fear. Becky acknowledged that the process might be difficult and cause mental paralysis, but it's crucial to clear clutter, especially things that are not used or loved. She also shared her personal experience with letting go of old belongings when she was pregnant. Becky shared a personal anecdote about her experience of letting go of her old dance costumes to make space for her new baby. She stated that despite initially regretting the decision, she eventually realized that her daughter and younger daughter were happy with what they had and that the memories she has of them are more important than the costumes she used to have. Becky emphasized the importance of purging possessions for a happier life and encouraged others to not hold onto everything.     To order the Audio Course, visit www.thehosslady.com/audiocourse   Music Provided by Scott Buckley
