  • Pipi Pumpkinseed
    2025/05/01

Old Mrs. Moody and Catbaloo are raking and digging and hoeing—getting the ground ready to plant a community pumpkin patch.

As they begin to plant the pumpkin seeds, Catbaloo is reminded of her favorite story about seeds. It’s the story of Pipi Pumpkinseed—a wise big brother mouse. With no food at home to feed his nine baby brothers and sisters, Pipi must venture out into the world to find them something to eat.

When he returns with ten pumpkin seeds, he gives them sage advice: They can eat their seeds, and have full tummies for one night, or they can plant their seeds and have full tummies every night—forever. But they were too hungry to care about planting, or the future, and they each decided to eat their seeds at once. But Pipi didn’t. Pipi planted his seed. Soon his one little pumpkin seed grew enough food to feed every mouse in every house in the county!

This story is a story about the incredible miracle of seedtime and harvest. There is a lot to be learned from Pipi and his little pumpkin seed.

Come listen in and learn a little bit about gardening and a lot about hope, faith, and love.

It was pure joy to produce this episode for you and your little loves to listen to together.

    1 Corinthians 3:7

It's not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What's important is that God makes the seed grow.

    2025/04/01

When Old Mrs. Moody awakens to find herself shrunk to a tiny size, her ordinary morning takes a fantastical turn—she’s so tiny she has to grab hold of her kitten Wilbur’s tail just to get down from her bed! But when her friend, Catbaloo, brings an exquisite antique dollhouse down from the attic, Mrs. Moody moves right in and makes herself comfortable. And what a dollhouse it is—its kitchen sink has real running water, its oven bakes miniature cookies and birthday cakes, and tiny appliances whirr to life.

Dr. Wear delivers a startling diagnosis: Old Mrs. Moody’s got a case of Microsia Minima, a rare condition brought on by something she ate. The cure? Consuming the exact opposite—whatever that might be! Will they discover the antidote, or will Old Mrs. Moody be teeny tiny forever?

Immerse yourself in a soundscape so vivid you’ll think you’re standing in Old Mrs. Moody’s dollhouse alongside her—every creak, pop, and hum bringing this enchanting tale to life. Tune in and find out if Old Mrs. Moody’s big dreams can outgrow her tiny troubles!

  • Showtime Toady
    2025/02/27

There is a toad singing showtunes in the creek outside Old Mrs. Moody's bedroom - and it's midnight! Such a ruckus! Poor Old Mrs. Moody can’t get to sleep and has to call Catbaloo for help.

When Catbaloo arrives, together they decide that it's not the toad’s singing that they mind, it's the TIME he is singing that's the problem. So, they come up with a plan: they will build Mr. Toad a stage and will help him put on a show every afternoon. Hopefully, Toady will be so worn out from his daily matinees that he’ll go to bed early and sleep all night.

Old Mrs. Moody bakes cookies, prints flyers and invites the whole neighborhood to come to the show. Uncle Henry, Lizbeth, and even Thelma, and her darling little grandson, William, come to the singing extravaganza.

Listeners are encouraged to think about the importance of using their talents so that they don't go to waste.

"What good are your talents if you never try to use them?” - Catbaloo

“Why, they’d be no good at all––they would be wasted. And that would be tragic!" - Old Mrs. Moody

This is a wonderfully meaningful and funny episode, highlighted with a special guest star performance by a very full-throated toad.

Hope you enjoy the show and will listen over and over and over. Feel free to sing along in your best toady voice!

I recorded this with all your dear hearts in mind.

  • Woodsy Lullaby
    2024/12/26

I once heard that if you keep very still in the woods at night, you'll hear God's creatures playing a lullaby for all the baby animals of the forest.

"Beneath the thicket, crickets play their sleepy twilight serenade. Their violins are soft and sweet.

And out in the middle of the big green pond, the trumpeting of papa swan lets all babies know that the day is done.

While in the treetops up above, the nightingale and silver dove play piccolo and silver flute, tweet-tweety toot."

Zip up your sleeping and join Catbaloo and Old Mrs. Moody on their campout at Possum Creek. Listen as each animal adds its beautiful instrument to the symphony of the forest.

You'll be asleep in the blink of an eye.

I hope this lullaby brings you peace. As always, thank you so much for listening.

  • The Goody Goat Cart
    2024/10/23

Old Mrs. Moody has a terrible cold, and while she waits to see the doctor, Catbaloo tells her the story of Anderson Kate and the Goody Goat Cart – a beautiful story of giving.

Anderson Kate is a little girl who lives on the mountaintop. One day, she and her mother bake a chocolate cake for Grandmother’s birthday. They put the cake in a little cart, pulled by two darling goats, and Anderson takes it down the mountain to the village in the valley where her grandmother lives. On her way there, she hears the troubles of her neighbors and gives them each a piece of the chocolate cake. By the time she reaches her grandmother’s house, the cake is all gone.

But wonderful things begin to happen on her way back up the mountain. With each stop she makes, she discovers that one neighbor has exactly what another neighbor needs. And by the time she arrives back home, everyone’s needs have been met.

Anderson Kate carried love, hope, and happiness all the way down, and all the way back up the mountainside.

I hope this story fills your heart with the very same.
