This month's conversation is with Dr. Anu French. A mother of two young girls, we discuss how integrative living and integrative medicine go hand in hand. There are so many ways healing can happen and we discuss how the use of art, music, being an advocate, and being your authentic self can help us grow into ourselves with kindness and grace. To learn more about Dr. Anu French, please check out her website, Facebook, or Instagram.

    Dr. Anu French Bio

This month's conversation is with Kristen Coyle. Kristen performs work as a yoga instructor, and somatic bodyworker, and holds space for others to come into their power using their voice and finding ease in their body. During our time, we discuss so many potent topics: examining privilege, layers of fear, intention vs. impact, spiritual bypass, and finding your dharma. This conversation is so potent! So grab a cup of tea and get ready to dive deep with us.

If you would like to find out more about Kristen, check out her website, Instagram, and her podcast Walking Dharma.

Kristen Coyle, E-RYT 500, is a devoted yoga practitioner, teacher, and somatic bodyworker. She began her journey with yoga 20 years ago and has been dedicated to the yogic path ever since. Kristen has offered classes, workshops, and yoga teacher training at various locales around the world and finds great joy in sharing yoga in a way that is equal parts potent and accessible. She works with folks from all walks of life to assist them in finding comfort and joy within their bodies.

Kristen's classes integrate elements of Dharma (Mittra) Yoga, Astanga, and Vinyasa into dynamic alignment-based, psychically clarifying, lineage-informed journeys. Breathing exercises, chanting, and meditation are woven into her offerings to assist in the transformation process that is yoga.

In 2018 she co-created the Walking Dharma podcast with her partner where she dives into yogic philosophy and how to apply it here/now. She currently lives in Berkeley, CA and when she is not immersed in yoga, can be found hiking, immersing herself in sacred waters, or sitting  mindfully with a cup of jasmine tea watching the birds.

Our conversation covers her journey to naturopathic medicine, epigenetics, and how natural medicine and science marry, or do they? We discuss how choice impacts our lives even from a very young age. Why failure is a lesson and not actually a failure in the way we have been taught and the importance of creating rituals, boundaries, and taking time for yourself - unapologetically. Toward the end, we discuss her newest adventure in the field of Cannabis Science.

Jamila's career started out as a Chemist, working in private industry; government, and within the pharmaceutical industry, at a top pharmaceutical company in the Research and Development Department. She then graduated from the four-year, Naturopathic Doctor degree program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Jamila has maintained a strong commitment to science in her practice, as well as to the greater community.

Jamila has blended her own herbal formulas for patients for over fifteen years and has formulated natural products. This led her to her last venture as the Research & Development Manager with a vertically integrated, Medical Cannabis operation.

  • Who Am I?
    2022/11/28

My conversation today is with Satinder. Satinder lives in India - studying, teaching, learning, and growing. In our conversation we discuss his childhood and growing up in the church, worshipping nature, living in India, being curious, and feeling better, younger, and wiser at 52. Admittedly, I had this conversation well after my bedtime, please forgive the struggle I had at times to find my words. Also, Satinder is sitting in a cafe (the only place with internet) so there is some background noise.

If you want to connect or learn more about Satinder, check out his Facebook or Instagram page. He also recently published his first book, Memoirs of a Spiritually "Incorrect" Type Fellow.

And of course, the music! We grew up in the same generation so the choices are fun and perfect!

    Sweet Dreams - Eurythmics

    Karma Chameleon - Culture Club

Prince -- Any song from 1984-86 : I picked one of my favorites for you: Raspberry Beret

    Ray of Light - Madonna

    2022/10/27
My conversation today is with Leah Crawford. Leah is an educator, a mother, and a wife -- all roles she holds in the highest regard. She is passionate and has a caring heart and spirit. She continues to consider, learn, and grow through this life and is humble in her acceptance of praise. We discuss growing up and losing her father at a young age and its impact on her. We also get into what it was like raising her three Black children in a predominantly white school. In the episode Leah makes the choice to send them first to a private school. After earning her degree in education, she moves them to the public school she works which is in an affluent district. What we touch on at the end is the state of our educational system today and the unjust ways of those systems.  All the schools we speak about are in St. Louis, Missouri.
