Internal conflicts. Competing agenda's. Why when I do one thing, it feels as though there's a side of me that doesn't want to do the thing !
Internal Family Systems, framed by Richard C. Schwartz, has been a beautiful and powerful framwork in helping us both understand the way our mind works.
It describes how there's many parts that make up the individual. Each part holding different roles, beliefs, ideas that when they are in control - make us think and behave differently.
Currently our kingdom or inner world is out of harmony. there are parts that are scared, there are parts living in the past and their are parts who think we are constantly in danger. There are also parts who want to create, want to express and help people and conflicts arise when these parts have conflicting agenda's.
Our kingdom needs a leader. One who's role it is to listen to these parts with compassion & love. Hear them out, understand their struggle and appreciate their service. Make decisions on if their role is beneficial, and help them on the path of healing and supporting the kingdom in a more effective way.
It's quite the process, and has given me a new perspective on the idea of having a relationship with myself. Loving myself and getting to know myself. It's a beautiful place to work on myself from.
Are you ready to, listen, have compassion and love your people?
