"Friday, October 4th, 1957. Scientists from the Soviet Union successfully launch Sputnik 1, a Soviet satellite up into space. It’s the first man made satellite that has successfully entered orbit, triggering the Space Race between the United States and the USSR. Countries from around the world fill their tabloids with news related to the success of the Soviet scientists, dubbing the event as a “modern marvel of scientific ingenuity”.

Angela Brown had enjoyed her life as a wife. She works full-time Monday through Friday and is home for the weekends. She had success in school and success in her career. Jacob soon came to find out that there is a hotel in the desert town of Tonopah, Nevada that is offering people a free room, meals, and pay to anyone who would come to work for them. The young drifter then embarks on a journey to be one of the first to make it to the hotel to get a job.
