Libby’s mommy was sweet and Libby was Daddy’s girl. Mommy got her a mirror at a garage sale and Daddy made goofy faces with her. Wright presents a picture of a girl dealing with frightening visions and escaping from a terrible reality into an imaginative fantasy that may be even more frightening. It’s at once horrifying and overwhelming but still reminiscent of fears and hopes perhaps all have experienced and forgotten as childhood gave way to adulthood.

Jimmy wants desperately to reach the young girl resting on the yellow blanket. She won't move. She won't speak. She stares into nothingness while his father fumes and Jimmy tries desperately to hold onto his youth.
