Sometimes, I still get frustrated having a challenging dog, but those moments are becoming further and further apart as we both get grayer and wiser. On most days, I'm eternally grateful for all Java's taught me. She's helped me become a better woman, and I don't think she ever intended such grandiose results. It was by no mistake how our paths crossed on that wintry morning at the shelter. She is an angel in my life. Where our paths lead us next, only the universe knows, but I still have my sparkly, silver magic wand in the back pocket of my old, faded blue jeans...and a poop bag.

It's going to happen to all of us - it's just a matter of which day and how. While we're here, why not slow down and pay attention? There's a true gift in being completely present - where angels play. In between the sounds of life and death lies a sacred space called peace. Peace is that place where angels play - where goosebumps remind us that there’s something more to this world that what we can see and hear.

Sage and Rocky Lewis own the land in Akron Ohio where a community of people that society threw away built a small village. The village was created on the principle of dignity, respect, and second chances. The city of Akron voted to close this village because it did not adhere to zoning codes even though it is completely hidden from the street and the only house near it is owned by The Homeless Charity which runs this village and day center. This audiobook is the story of some of the residents in that village. But maybe more importantly it is a story of community, love, and support.
