Inspirational stories from people who reclaimed their health, got their bodies back, and how they did it!
“Wow! 209 pounds, huh?” Those were the cringe-worthy words from my doctor during my annual physical in 2022. I had worked so hard to avoid knowing my exact weight and now I was forced to face my reality. This is one of multiple cascading events which led me to make the decision: I was ready to lose weight, no matter what it would take.
I loathed dieting. I had dieted in the past and the weight always returned, and then some. I read diet books, tried their plans, and lost some weight. But I always became discouraged and gave up before hitting my goal. I just couldn’t get excited about tasteless recipes with obscure ingredients and a long list of dos and don’ts. So, I created my own plan; discovering foods, exercise, and the right mindset that would work for me in the long term.
I committed to my plan and was able to lose 50 pounds in one year. My asthma disappeared and all my cholesterol numbers improved dramatically. The best part was getting my body back and feeling comfortable in my own skin again!
Inevitably, people would ask, “How are you losing weight?” This book answers the questions I received throughout my weight loss journey. Instead of focusing only on my approach, I decided to write a book highlighting multiple approaches that were successful. Be inspired by real people who figured out how to lose 50 or more pounds after the age of 50.
“Why after 50?” I believe most people have given up on their weight loss dreams by the time they pass that milestone birthday; I know I had. This book is a collection of personal stories and strategies that people have used to win at the weight loss game. Spoiler alert: There was no magic pill or bariatric surgery involved.
This book is different. Instead of being told exactly what to do (and not to do), you have the opportunity to learn from many people, and to create a plan that will work for you.
