Separate what you observed and your judgement.
Focus on the needs being met or unmet.
I feel x because I have a need for y. Never “you’re x” or “I feel x because you do y”
Can you repeat me back what you just heard what I say? - Thank you for telling me that’s what you heard, it seems I hadn’t made myself clear.
I’m sensing you’re scared that your need for the safety not being met. Is that so?
Judgment, negative or positive, is life-eliminating. Always focus on what happened, the emotion, and the needs.
