    We present to some and introduce to others, Nashville OG himself Mr. Tony Varnell ✌🏽. Mentoring men ages 11-18 for the last 9 years through his program titled, “The Legacy Builders”, Mr. Varnell has dedicated his life to serving our youth of today. A lot of people claim to “serve the youth” but this brother really has put the work in, and isn’t afraid to show his receipts. Having a 100% graduation rate amongst his young men in 9 years, these men have gone to be doctors, preachers, athletes, and more. Mr. V comes to vent on our platform about a lot of things, one being how he became a father at the young age of 14. How did he mentally get through that and other challenges?     For the month of August, we will have business professionals come to discuss a whole season dedicated to the topic “Black Men & Finances”. How important is finances to a black man’s mental health? Let’s dive into the conversation today and look forward to more great episodes from this month.


    Our first guest for our “Black Men & Finances” Season is none other than our good friend Mr. Fred Tyus. We welcome Mr. Fred onto the show and immediately get into his story of how he learned about credit. As a young man, he stated that he did a lot of the wrong things with credit cards due to just lack of knowledge, and being in survival mode needing to make ends meet. On the podcast, we talk about how to establish credit, maintaining it, and the understanding of how to accurate access your score. Nobody likes NOT having money, cause that surely can affect your mental health. He began journey in the band, being on the drum line and then transitioning to being a drum major. He also credits his church upbringing for really giving him an ear for sound, beats, and different cadences. “He” is none other than Nashville native, college grad, and one of the most successful DJs in the city … DJ Mouse ⭐️ DJ Mouse has spent a lot of time in various venues doing parties all over the city. In his early days, you may have seen him DJ’ing “No Red Lightz” parties . Here recently, he’s toured with some of the most major artists in the industry, and in 2023 even spent some time being a DJ on stage at the Rolling Loud event in California ‼️ We take the time to talk to DJ Mouse about how he mentally handles everything that comes with traveling, preparation, and networking in his respective field. We got a great guest duo on the show today so sit back, unwind, and enjoy today’s episode. Let’s lock in! 🔒 We are a few days behind Fathers Day, but wanted to still get out this great story between these two men. Our relationship with these brothers began in church, and has been strong both inside and outside church doors. A young man by the name of Nathaniel Hicks, a New York native, moved to Nashville and began his family. Then his son, Nigel Hicks, a young man who vents heavily about his fathers impact, his journey from childhood to adulthood, and how adversity in his solidarity season of life built him to the man he is today. Both men take the time to not only vent about their own individual mental health struggles, but they take the time to appreciate each other in the episode as well.
