  • Taking The Next Six Months Off
    2023/05/11

This is probably one of the hardest podcasts that I have ever had to post. The podcast is going to take the next six months off, as I take the next six months off from my business and everything that I have created with Chasing Happiness. I will explain this a little bit better in the blog post for next week but there will be no new podcasts from now until the new year while I take some much-needed time for myself to reset and refocus.

  • Replay - In Honour of being at Walt Disney World this week - A Conversation with Lou Mongello from WDW Radio
    2023/05/01

This week will start some of the replay episodes that I will be playing from the last seven years. We have had a lot of great guest, and a lot of wonderful conversations over the last seven years as this podcast has grown. I thought you would start our replay episodes in honour of Walt Disney World, since I am at Walt Disney World this week, with my amazing conversation with Lou Mongello of WDW Radio.

Lou has been an amazing friend, a wonderful supporter, a business mentor and so much more to me over the years that it felt right to make this one of our replay episodes. It felt especially right to make it the very first one of the replay episodes over the last seven years because he has been such an important part of me creating this podcast to begin with. The Chasing Happiness podcast would not exist without Lou Mongello.

I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed the conversation. Please feel free to follow Lou and his amazing journey and all of the things that he does in the world after listening to this episode at the links below.

  • Women's Health & Starting A Business In A Pandemic, A Conversation with Jackie From Ovry
    2023/04/24

Starting a business can be terrifying, starting one in the middle of a pandemic even more so. Add to that, creating a business for women by women and you may just think "what was I thinking" but thankfully for us the ladies who started Ovry were willing to take the risk.

Ovry is a business focused on education and making reproductive care accessbile and affordable to everyone. This week on the podcast I talk with Jackie, one of the cofounders of Ovry about why they created this company any why education around women's reproductive health is so important.

We chat about what it was like too launch the company in the middle of a pandemic, how hard it has been to help some people understand that this is something many women are concerned about. With many choosing to hold off on starting a family until later in life, many who struggle to start a family when they are ready, and many who have decided not to have a family based on whatever their life circumstances and choices are, being able to have access to government regulated products that are affordable and that can assist them in whatever their life goals are, is important.

We talk about lessons learned along the way and Jackie shares with us some of the things that have been eye-opening for her. The fabulous learning opportunities as a company while they launched this business. This Canadian owned company is trying to create a world where we all have access to the health products we need. Where no one is judged for the choices they make about fertility and health and most of all, they are trying to level the playing field around womens health.

Jackie shares with us some words of wisdom as well as life lessons she's learned through this process and of course, we chat a little about where the company is going, and what her long-term goals are. We talk briefly about why women's fertility was an important topic and a good starting place for the company, and how they're now expanding into products to monitor male fertility as well. Jackie has some big plans for this company and happily shares her vision with all of us this week on the podcast.

As a woman who struggles with fertility issues myself, this conversation hit close to home. For many listeners may be the case. Please be advised we do talk about fertility issues in this episode. As a woman who has experienced infertility, I understand this may not be an episode for everyone.

Jackie has also been generous enough to give all of the listeners to the Chasing Happiness podcast a 15% discount on all of the products offered by Ovry, Use Code: CHASINGHAPPINESS15 on the site when you order.

Please be sure to follow her and the company after listening to this week's episode

  • Replay Episode: How do we live our life well ? A conversation with Dr Kevin Payne - Top 5 episodes of 2022
    2023/03/06

How do we live our lives well when we often face things out of our control?

Sometimes things that are related to our health hit us with the unexpected bad news that we left to cope with without a guidebook to help us through it all.

This week I chat with Dr. Kevin Payne about all of this and more. He shares with me how his diagnosis of MS in his young adulthood changed his life. He shares how the struggle of that journey has impacted his career and his life choices.

We talk about why he started skydiving and how instrumental that life choice has been for him in creating a life lived well for himself.

He tells me why he started "Your life lived well" and what impact he is hoping it has on the world.

We talk about what stress really is and how it relates to our fear and why you can't actually avoid stress so we all should be aiming toward a life where we reframe what stress actually is.

Be sure to check him out after you listen to this week's episode of the podcast.
