  • Later Never Comes- Integrated CBT to Eliminate Procrastination
    2025/05/17

Procrastination is a common life problem that is cross-cultural and affects up to 90% of the population. It’s a problem associated with a high price. Its effects range from stress and depression, through educational and career difficulties through to unaddressed health problems. It’s a problem that’s recognized by therapists, by managers and by those who suffer from it themselves. However it is commonly misunderstood despite the numerous books on the topic.

In this podcast, Paul Grantham, Consultant Clinical Psychologist shares his practical experience and knowledge of working with hundreds of clients along with his detailed MUSCLE™ programme, specifically designed for tackling it.

Rather than seeing the problem as one related to time management or inability to delay having fun, Paul sees the problem as a combination of negative beliefs, “Uncomfortable Feelings Intolerance” (UFI) and a failure to use “Implementation Intentions”. The podcast outlines what these are as well as linking to his best-selling book I Want To Stop Procrastinating Now (2021) which outlines his MUSCLE™ along with 20 specially designed exercises to achieve it.

Issues addressed along the way are:

    • Increasing your motivation to change
    • Tackling “Unhelpful Feelings Intolerance”
    • Spotting self-sabotaging thoughts
    • Changing both the content of and your relationship with such thoughts
    • Putting things into practice
    • How to keep going and establish natural “anti-procrastination” habits
