  • The Loneliness of Surviving
    2025/05/19

In this episode, EG opens up about the loneliness of surviving; how trauma doesn’t just take something from you, it leaves you with the aftershocks long after. She talks about the story of Kayla Malec and dives deep into the different kinds of loneliness survivors face: the grief for the person you were before, the disconnect from the world around you, and the complicated feelings toward the version of you that did what she had to do to survive.

It’s not clean. It’s not linear. But you’re not alone in it.

  • Questions Survivors Are Tired of Hearing
    2025/05/01

In this episode, EG dives into the worst questions survivors get asked, and why so many of them miss the mark. From the straight-up harmful to the shockingly common, she unpacks the assumptions behind questions like “What were you wearing?” and “Are you sure that’s what happened?” and talks about how curiosity, concern, or even good intentions can still cause harm when we’re not being mindful.

She shares her own experiences, reflections from listeners, and a few actually helpful things you can say instead. Whether you're a survivor who’s felt dismissed or an ally who wants to do better, this episode is both a call-in and a call-out.

If you've ever been on the receiving end of a “but why didn’t you fight back?” or wondered what not to say to someone who’s been through trauma, this one’s for you.

  • Forgiveness is Overrated
    2025/04/15

In this episode, EG talks about forgiveness after trauma—specifically after sexual violence—and all the pressure that can come with it. There’s this idea that forgiving the person who hurt you is the key to healing, but she doesn’t think it’s that simple.

She shares some of her own story and thoughts on what forgiveness has (and hasn’t) looked like for her and why she thinks we need to give survivors more space to figure that out for themselves. If you’ve ever felt like you should forgive but didn’t want to—or weren’t ready—this episode is for you.

  • Unlearning the Rules
    2025/03/15

Happy Women's History Month! In this episode, EG is diving into what it really means to be a woman: the rules we were taught, the labels we were given, and the impossible expectations we’ve been trying to meet for way too long. From “be likable” to “don’t be too much,” we’re unpacking the unspoken rules that shaped us and throwing them away. She’s breaking down what it means to take up space, to stop shrinking ourselves, and to finally embrace the wild, messy, emotional, powerful parts of who we are. Expect a little anger, a lot of empowerment, and more than one “why did no one teach us this sooner?!” moment.

  • Coping Mechanisms
    2025/03/01

Coping—are we actually dealing with things, or just avoiding them in a way that looks productive? In this episode, EG is breaking down the fine line between coping and crutch—when a habit is actually helping and when it’s just keeping us stuck. She asked a bunch of people how they cope, and the answers? All over the place. Some are out here journaling and setting goals, while others are numbing out with impulse shopping and doom-scrolling. (Relatable.)

But noticing how we cope is just step one. Step two? Letting go of the habits, thoughts, and expectations that are quietly weighing us down. Because we all have these stories we tell ourselves—like ‘I have to have it all together’ or ‘If I slow down, I’m failing’—and half the time, they’re not even true.

So, if you’re in your healing era, questioning your own coping habits, or just here for the introspective deep dive, this one’s for you. Let’s get into it.
