  • Rae Bonney with Ken Lyons - Life Living Legend of the Silent Generation
    2019/04/22

The Silent Generation includes people who were born between 1925 and 1945 - typically very quiet, hard workers. There was not a skerrick of silence when it came to super special guest, Ken Lyons back on Sunday 10 March when I spoke with him live at 94.1FM. He became a very hard working pharmacist, betwixt many, more theatrical occupations and we became all noisy about what it's felt like being Ken for almost 95 years - recognising the important and often unsung role of pharmacists within our community. We are also heard from Gen Z recording artist Will Hearn, debuting his brand new song called "Wild Brother" - he's worked harder than the silent generation, for almost 3 years, figuring out how to get his featured track finished!

  • Rae Bonney with Mal Meiers - Food For Thought - 10 September, 2018
    2019/01/13

The hospitality industry cops a lot of flak for being detri(mental) to the health of its workers. In 2014, international, award winning chef and founder of Food for Thought charity dinner, Mal Meiers, used his own experiences, an insatiable desire for change and influencing skills comparable to Oprah, to do something about it. Food for Thought was created to help raise awareness about mental health challenge in the hospitality industry and to support people in managing better. Four years ago, Mal started with a single dinner in Melbourne and recently sold out more events in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane – inspiring life saving conversations amongst thousands of industry leaders, workers, their families and friends. The generosity of the industry has meant that everything for each event is donated, including top notch venues, chefs, food and wine. Hear what it feels like being Mal Meiers right here.
